Fathers often enjoy teaching computer skills, math or science, and the children look forward to spending time with him after dinner.  Assignments can be given for the next day. 

If not teaching, Dad can help with homework, science experiments  and other projects.

A fun way to do literature is by gathering the family together after dinner for Dad to read aloud, having group discussion afterwards.  This can make great Classics enjoyable for everyone! 

Discipline & Consequences: 

One of the most important things is for Dad to uphold disciplinary consequences and assignment deadlines.  It's easy for Mom to feel overwhelmed when she's doing everything on her own.  Children need to know their parents are a team, and that there's absolute authority, the same as if sent to a principal for not obeying the teacher in a classroom.

Just spending time with Dad can be a special learning experience! 

While teaching "life skills outside the classroom", he also deepen relationships with his children.

Spending "school time with Dad" allows him to bring a man's perspective to life, and it gives Mom a chance to rest or catch up with household chores!

When possible, schedule field trips so Dad can go along, creating family memories and adding depth to the instruction. 

Having Dad's involvement in homeschooling enriches the children's learning experience.  Keep him involved!

Time Alone with Dad

Special Father/Son Time helps boys learn what it means to be a man, giving them time to talk about "guy things" without the interuption of home and work responsibilities.

Special Father/Daughter Time (dates with Dad) can provide the security and companionship girls so desperately need.  When they have a close relationship with their fathers, they're able to make better choices when involved with young men.

Sports are another way fathers can be involved with their children.  Some even make it a point to coach the team so they're sure to be there for the events.

Encourage and support Dad's desire to do things with the children, even if it means that Mom stays home with the little ones.  The rewards are tremendous, and the family will be blessed!
